Rescheduling the Contest

Detailed info about rescheduling, holding and canceling of the contest.

General Information

  1. Sangeeta Prarambha is designed for Elementary School children while Bhagawad Gita contest is for all.
  2. Registration: From Ganesh Chaturthi to Vijayadashami every year.
  3. Registration with late fee: Until November 15th. Both registration and rescheduling requests will be disabled afterward.
  4. Contest: First two weeks of December.
  5. Result: Sankranti, the following year.
  6. For the importance of the contest, instructions, textbooks, syllabi, grading criteria, and other information, please refer to their respective pages under the Lessons menu.
  7. Each level is independent. Students can choose any level they most qualify for or select levels sequentially for gradual progress.
  8. Sangeeta Prarambha Chaturtha and Bhagawad Gita Sampoorna levels will receive Sangeeta Prarambha and Bhagawad Gita certificates respectively, ranks along with cash prizes (1st prize: 4 times the examination fee. 2nd prize: 3 times the examination fee. 3rd prize: 2 times the examination fee). All other levels will receive a certificate and rank.
  9. High school students are eligible for college scholarships.
  10. All levels of Sangeeta Prarambha are virtual.
  11. Levels 1 and 2 of Bhagawad Gita are virtual while Sampoorna should be attended by US and Canadian students in person in Dallas, TX (during the first two weekends). Appearing in person is optional for European students.
  12. A minimum number of contestants as set by the organization is necessary for a competition. Otherwise, the fee will be refunded starting from November 16th.
  13. All registrants will get a detailed email about their selected examination after the registration.
  14. In unavoidable circumstances, if rescheduling, canceling, or holding is necessary, one should follow the steps provided at https://www.sangeetabharati.org/examinations/cancel-reschedule-reactivate/ at least two weeks before the examination.
  15. If the cancellation/holding is not requested on time and a student doesn’t show up for the exam, there will be no refund, and the registration will become void.
  16. The fee is nontransferable.
  17. Though unnecessary, Sangeeta Bharati’s books and audio/video lessons can be used to prepare for the examination. Students are free to refer to any material and choose any song (applicable to Sangeeta Prarambha) as long as the syllabus is covered and instructions are followed.
