1. Before You Begin

Welcome! This page allows you to register for Sangeeta Bharati’s Indian classical music and dance examinations. Registration runs from Ganesh Chaturthi to Vijayadashami every year.

Please read this page carefully and enter all information accurately. Your certificates, marks cards, and all official communications will be generated based on the details you provide.

2. Examination Levels

Optional Levels

The following levels are optional and conducted virtually. These exams can be taken for gradual progress:

    • Pravesha Prathama, Dwiteeya and Truteeya (Junior Levels 1, 2 and 3)

    • Madhyama Prathama, Dwiteeya, Truteeya (Senior Levels 1, 2 and 3)

Mandatory Certification Levels

    • Pravesha Chaturtha (Junior Level 4)

    • Madhyama Chaturtha (Senior Level 4)

These certification levels are considered for final grading, completion certification, scholarships, and other opportunities.

Attendance Requirement:

    • Students in the U.S. must appear in person for the mandatory certification level exams (all papers).

    • In-person appearance is optional for students in other countries.

Madhyama level Eligibility Requirement

To be eligible for any Madhyama level, students must have completed Pravesha Chaturtha (Junior) with a minimum grade of ‘C’.

3. Study Materials

Students may refer to any material that aligns with the syllabus, including:

    • Sangeeta Bharati textbooks

    • Audio/video lessons

  1. All textbooks, syllabi, and supporting materials are available under the Curriculum menu.
  2. The previous year’s question papers can be found at this location.

4. Registration Window

Registration is open from Ganesh Chaturthi (Mon, Sep 14, 2026) to Vijayadashami (Tue, Oct 20, 2026).
An extension of up to two weeks may be granted, subject to a $25 late fee.

5. Scheduling & Rescheduling

Most examinations will be held on weekends in December. Due to the complexity of scheduling, students should be prepared to appear on any weekend during this month.

If a student needs to reschedule after the schedule is published, please follow the formal rescheduling process, which includes an administrative fee.

In unavoidable circumstances, students may request cancellation within the cancellation period and receive a refund.

6. Theory Classes

Up to ten free theory classes for Pravesha Levels 2, 3 and 4 will begin shortly after registration closes (weekends after Vijayadashami).

    • Music theory classes: Weekend mornings

    • Dance theory classes: Weekend evenings

This schedule is designed to support students taking both music and dance examinations.

7. Confirmation & Communication

After completing registration, students will receive a detailed email confirming their selected examination.

One-time fee adjustment at Level 4: The Junior Certification represents a cumulative learning journey. While students may enter at any level based on readiness, Level 4 represents the culmination of all foundational learning (Levels 1–3) and leads to the Junior Certification. The fee structure covers the full Junior Certification, ensuring consistency and fairness across all learning pathways.

While students may enter at any level based on readiness, Level 4 represents the culmination of prior learning (Levels 1–3) and leads to the Senior Certification.
